Defining the strategy for the development of a new industrial eco-system dedicated to production of solar pumping equipment in Morocco

Morocco has placed great emphasis on the development of renewable energy sources within the country. Its National Strategy for Sustainable Development (NSSD) aims at the industrial integration of clean technologies, creating green jobs, and meeting the targets set out in the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).

ACS has been mandated by the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE) to conduct a study to elaborate a local industrial development plan of components and solar photovoltaic pumping systems for agricultural irrigation.

This study assessed the potential for the development of a national solar pumping component industry through technical, financial, and market feasibility studies. In addition, it determined the positioning of the various components in terms of profitability, and established support plans and guidelines for the production plants.
